  • Pochi sopravvivono a questa malattia.“Few people survive this disease.”
  • Una libreria in quella posizione non farebbe abbastanza soldi per sopravvivere.“A bookstore in that location wouldn’t make enough money to survive.”
  • In natura ogni essere vivente lotta, corre, mangia, attacca o fugge per sopravvivere.“In nature every living being fights, runs, eats, attacks or flees for survival.”
  • Non sopravviverà più di un giorno.“He/she/you won’t survive more than one day.”

  • J’ai survécu à un accident de voiture. “I survived a car accident.”

  • C’est l’ordre de la nature que les enfants survivent à leurs parents.“It is the order of nature that children survive their parents.”
  • Il survécut à ses enfants. “He survived his children.”

  • Él sobrevivió a su esposa. “He survived his wife”, i.e., “he lived longer than his wife.”
  • Él sobrevivió al accidente de avión.“He survived the plane crash.”
  • No es el más fuerte el que sobrevive.“It’s not the strongest the one who survives.”
  • Un poeta puede sobrevivir a cualquier cosa excepto un error de impresión. “A poet can survive everything but a misprint.”
  • Es muy difícil sobrevivir en una ciudad grande sin endeudarse. “It’s really difficult to survive in a big city without endebting oneself.”

Obs.: Se dice también “supervivir“. Del mismo modo: sobreviviente / superviviente (“survivor”); pero: supervivencia y no sobrevivencia (“survival”).

  • J’ai besoin de votre aide. – “I need your help.”
  • Votre protection est sa seule aide. – “Your protection is her only help.”
  • Il n’aurait pas réussi sans l’aide de telle machine. – “He wouldn’t have managed without the help of such machine.”
